Norm's F.A.Q.
Why did the team name itself "Norms?"
Some believe that it stands for "Normal Guys" (i.e. "regular guys.") Others have rationed that we are big George Wendt fans-the guy who played Norm on Cheers and some people have gone as far to say that we named ourselves after Minnesota Senator, former St. Paul's mayor, Norm Coleman- who lost to Jesse Ventura in the 1998 State of Minnesota's Gubernatorial race! The answer, however is that the Norms are named in honor of our founding father, Mr.Jerry Keating, who was nicknamed after the character on the popular TV sitcom Cheers!" Our Norm was a great power hitter in his day, but retired in the mid- 90's to pursue a plumbing career.

How can I become a Norm?
If you live in Minnesota, the South Metro of the Twin Cities, or can drive in for games consistently, you might be a Norm. If you can play ball with serious focus and give your all every play, every pitch, every beer swigged, you might be a Norm. If you have passion for the game of softball, a sense of humor, a heart of gold, or a police record, you might be a Norm. Fill out the Prospective Norm Application. Someone will contact you!
