Twins Players

Kent Hrbek Outdoors
The strapping big guy from the World Champs in 87 & 91 now has his own TV show about the great Minnesota Outdoors.

Justin Morneau
Looks like a nice site, and an easy place to go buy AL MVP apparel.

Pat Neshek
I really have no purpose for this page. I figured hey, why not start a webpage about my life in baseball and talk about everything that goes on in it, especially autographs....

Joe Mauer Fan Club
The Joe Mauer Fan Club began in March 2004. It began with a small website and a Yahoo! sports Group called joemauerfanclub...

Mike Redmond's "Smell 'em" site
It's something I've said since I was in A ball, that when you've got guys on base, those guys are like steaks - you've got to smell 'em and bring them in. Smell 'em is a reference to runners in scoring position, a way of emphasizing the importance of clutch hits."

Harmon Killebrew
The official site for the Hall of Fame Twin, who is the best pure power hitter in the organization's history. Harmon also read my name over the air of MSC broadcast of a 1987 Spring Training game between the Twins and Astros game is Kissimee Florida. A week later at the Metrodome, he actually remembered my name. Class act, that guy is.

Tony Oliva
Tony Oliva's homepage. Best for contacting the great hitter, and procuring authograph material.

A Tribute to Al Newman
Some dude's simple little html site which features Al Newman cards and a general pictures. Nothing too fancy.

Ron Coomer
Coom Dog is the man! When I was with fan relations for the Twins in '98, he won our favorite player award, hands down!

My Favorite MLB Players of All-Time (non Twins)

Nolan Ryan Foundation
I flew down to Texas for Nolan Ryan day, and saw him honored with two longhorns, a rocking chair and a plethora of other gifts. I named my kid "Nolan." Mr. Ryan is by far the best pitcher of all-time in my opinion. He was no flash in the pan, he was the epitome of longetivity and production, results, and dominance. I could go on and on....

Houston Chronicle on Nolan Ryan's Career
Nolan Ryan as tolld by the writers who knew his career best.

Another great blog, and shows the angle of a Twins fan with a personal life, too. I don't get it.

Twinstalker.com
He's either talking Twins or stalking one of them, we're not sure. Twinstalker writes about his favorite topics: sports with a Minnesota slant and his neverending quest to find the perfect woman.

Will Young
Stats and Graphs, Stats and Grpahs, and Twins game breakdowns with numbers. I don't get it. Looks too much like Economics and stuff. Blah.

Twins Nation
The ultimate source for Minnesota Twins community news and commentary

Seth Speaks
My name is Seth Stohs, and I am a sports dork. (Just ask my brother) I can admit it. I have so many thoughts circulating in my head and, well, there’s just not any more room in there, so I need to clear some space.

Aaron Gleeman.com
This site just kicks ass. Great stuff, good insight and all that jazz..

Bat Girl
Self-proclaimed as "Less stats and more sass." I find this to be a a really cool blog written with a unique perspective. It's like reading the Minnesota Twins baseball version of morning TV show called "TheView."

Bleacher Bums
Minnesota Public Radio's Baseball Blog.

Twinkietown.com
Another great blog, with intense analysis. Man, Twins fans know their stuff.

TwinsCentral
A Start-up Blog, looks like it might have been stuck in the mud right after launch?

Billy-Ball.com
And still champion... Bill Chuck's site has been up for a long time, and I still proclaim to the baseball world that this is the BEST READ for any stitch head that I have found. His world his where I strive to be.

The Baseball Music Project
Few sports have inspired a broader range of music than baseball. Major songwriters and composers have tackled baseball as a subject. When I saw the demo fror this presentation, I started craving to see it live. When, if they ever announce an appearance in the Twin Cities, I will be all over it...mp3 sample

YankeeJerseys.com
It was August 06, the Yankees were playing the Bluejays in Bobby Abreu's debute with the team. It was a heatwave, a sweatfest, and I was there. I bought a new shirt, a Yankee Stadium shirt at this cool shop right across the street from Yankee Stadium. That was a really nice memory in baseball travels. The Yanks won 5-1.

New Yor Met's Podcast
The Future of the Twinnin.com website

MatchingSox.com
This is a unique concept, a web site that is a dating service for fans of the Boston Red Sox. I think every team in baseball should have similar site, but those Red Sox fans are still pretty trendy in this department since that movie "Fever Pitch" came out in 2005.

Minnesota Twins Media Sites

The Star / Tribune
Considering all the blogs, and uneccesary competition from amateurs, the '07 Twins site seems to have established a nice place for inside news. All they really need to do now, is hire an amateur site to give it a garage flavor. If they build it, we will come.

LaVelle E Neal III
Lavelle is pretty cool, and a solid writer. I just think he should be doing this in Chicago.

Section 220 (Howard Sinker)
In another millennium, Howard Sinker covered the Twins for the Star Tribune. Today, he is a commentator on baseball and other sports for Minnesota Public Radio's Midday program. Not sure that I like this... too polished to be just a "voice of the fan."

The Pioneer Press
Loads way too slow, and it's chock full of those annoyingly large banner ads. Got pay the pro writers though.

Reference

The Baseball Almanac
The one and only, now a kick ass online resource. Baseball Almanac has dedicated itself to preserving the history of our national pastime and has rapidly grown into an interactive baseball encyclopedia filled with more than three-hundred thousand pages of in-depth baseball facts! You gotta pony up and buy the book version anyway, though. It looks cool on the shelves next to all the Nolan Ryan no-hitters on DVD, and Twins playoff games.
